The only thing i was missing for a custom loop was a pump so i just bought a new one. My 90nm Preshott is currently at 4544MHz and only reaches 59C.

Makumba pump? This is crazy Voodoo: Prescott below 80°C... (LOL)
I can remember water cooling wars at its time of life, it was funny to watch. I bought a 939 Athlon.

Since socket 775 has the same mounting system as sockets 1366 and 11x5 you should be able to use standard AIOs and water blocks if you go custom open loop.

(blab starting)
I have a load of 775 coolers. Some have copper cores, some are 2x height... Can't really sort which is best.
I'll maybe post a pic. Socket 423 I only have 3 and they are the same. I never tried to fit a 478 on it though.

Maybe in January I'll have time to do some 423 runs.
(blab ending)

Are there s. 423 watercooling systems or it was too early?

S423 was never that popular.

We must reverse this. Let's start a huge campaign.

RAM plays along well 😁

Any suggestions on what software to use for monitoring temperatures etc. on the GigaByte EP45-UD3LR?

Motherboard Monitor doesn't seem to have a profile for it, and Open Hardware Monitor fails to start as not being a valid Windows-32 application even though the download page states compatibility with WinXP 32 Bit.

[Edit]: Found an extra MHz for FSB ... 🤣 265 isn't stable ...

Gigabyte EasyTune6 monitors temps for my Gigabyte S775 board.

Thanks, seems to work here too 😀

Bummer... Had my Asus P4C800E Deluxe with 3,4GHz Northwood HT and X800 up and running, but not a single kHz overclock or it will cause bsod. Voltage above 1,6 is not my thing, I want to keep this CPU alive.

Stuck at 10MHz...

That's sad. But since 3.4 was the highest official speed, it kind of makes sense - but only kind of - since I for once ran a 2.8 at over 3.4. Maybe the north bridge is having issues? After all, the 875 was pretty high performance over the 865. Do you have a fan on the north bridge?

RAM? Did you make sure to reduce the frequency divider so that RAM frequency does not go over 200MHz? I've had sticks before that were rock-stable at stock, but couldn't handle even a measly frequency boost.

Lets see if this changes the score…

IMG_2971.jpeg

Needs more Radeon.. perhaps a pair of HD6990's... I mean a pair of HD7970 x2's naturally.

Weirdly HD 6990s are damn cheap on evilbay right now, 7970s are not badly priced either hmmmm

Is there such a thing as toooo much Radeon ?

So you don’t think my current 4 GPUs is enough!?

More than enough 🤣, I do like old Radeon GPUs though, especially the dual GPU varietals, not limited to ATI either, nVidia had some equally nice ones ...though they did tend to be space heaters.

If I had to pick a model .. the 4870X2 was the standout, I have a pair of them and they have a place of pride on my display shelf, cost a fortune back in the day and I couldn't bare to part with them. For daily use though 4890 Crossfire was better overall.

Oh the nVidia stuff was WARM. I’ve got a pair of GTX 295s and a pair of 690s.

The 690s were nice, I had a 590 before it went to the great space heater in GPU heaven, simply gave up the ghost one day and I could never resurrect it.

Its regular Kingston ddr-3200 zo that could make sense. I'll see what happens when I set it to 333MHz. Also, I may swap it with some other ram I have laying around.

It does not have it's own fan, but the Zalman flower is breezing over it (CPU at 30-40'c) I guess their providers enough cooling.
