And yet again I find stuff that I forgot I had. This is the reason I now maintain an asset tracking system.

Asus P5N-D, BIOS modified for LGA-771, and a load of 775/771 CPUs. No 771 Netburst Xeons though 🙁

I was running my 660 on an Asus P5N-D.

Did you ever try your Xeon 5080?

I couldn’t get my Pentium D 945 to strap to 1066FSB, so I’m looking at options for native 1066.

All I can say is careful with the scalpel/xacto when cutting the lugs off the socket!

The screenshot total MHz is incorrect - CPU-Z is not calculating correctly. The multiplier is correct, though. Actual MHz and FSB is below.

3DMark 2000: 29936
CPU: Presler Pentium D 945 3.40GHz@4688MHz/293MHz
RAM: 2048MB DDR2 1066 Dual Channel@1172MHz
GPU: GeForce7 7950 GT@600MHz/783MHz

I was using V 2.08 - maybe it gets it more correct?

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

Scores updated. An * was added to Meatballs score. The score will have an * until CPU speed is displayed correctly by CPUz or verified by cpuz validator link.

is that also stock voltage you are running on the cpu?

I found when C1 Halt State is disabled, the CPU is inventoried incorrectly no matter the utility or program in this setup. v1.89 of CPU-Z is the last version to work under 9x of which I am aware. However, when C1 is enabled, HWINFO can detail the FSB and CPU speed properly - I used the latest v7.66.

I ran the benchmarks several times each with C1 enabled and disabled; the results were within variance in both scenarios. Unsurprisingly, a nice boost is achieved with C1 disabled. The best of both runs are attached.

3DMark 2000: 30400
CPU: Presler Pentium D 945 3.40GHz@4688MHz/293MHz
RAM: 2048MB PC2-8500 DDR2 Dual Channel@1172MHz
GPU: GeForce 7950 GT@600MHz/1584MHz

4.9Ghz, thats a very nice overclock for a Pentium D and very close to that magical number 😉 JUst noticed that first one is listed at 4.6 ...which one is the one we need to pay attention to ?

4.6 - it's not reporting the speed correctly when C1 enhanced halt state is disabled.

4.6 is still a damn fine overclock, 1.2Ghz above stock !
