It is a USB wireless receiver and Logitech website says Windows 10+. Release date in 2017 so I do not think you will every get it to work in Windows 98 or XP.
Would be different if it was first released back during XP era.... then there might be a chance. Just my opinion....

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Me and a mate think it should work. Get the keyboard and receiver working paired under a newer OS (works here with Linux and a program called Solaat), and then just move the receiver.

As long as the USB bit provides a USB keyboard, I guess 98 should see it...

That is what I had done. Did not seem to work under 98. Worked under XP. Was in USB passthrough in both cases. Running 98 might change something.

Would adding the logitech VID to the correct .inf file work ?

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

I use my Logitech MX Keys and MX Master 3 in 98 without issues. But I don't know if they are supported out-of-box or it is thanks to the NUSB package which I always install in any 98 box of mine.

My keyboard only works in BIOS. In Windows 98 it doesn't. I haven't tried anything special for it though.

But I have another problem with any USB HID devices. When it's plugged in, I sometimes get badly distorted image.

The most common cause of this problem is that many early BIOS had "USB legacy keyboard/mouse support" disabled by default.

Thank you, it helped. That option was in Integrated Peripherals tab.
