I recently picked up a Compaq Presario 5000 5WV280, which originally came with Windows ME, but I'm trying to install Windows 98 SE instead.

Every time I try to run Windows 98 SE setup, both the keyboard and mouse stop working. I'm using both a PS/2 keyboard and mouse, the keyboard works in the BIOS, and both the mouse and keyboard have previously worked in Windows ME.

Not sure what I can try to get them to work, it prevents me from running through Windows 98 setup.
