Hey all

I want to connect my retro windows 98 PC to a wifi network for reasons I cant elaborate further. I have a functioning network card on that particular system that runs with 100Mbs.

I wondering what my best options are and have no idea if all of these would actually work:

-should I get one of these cheap Lan-2-Wifi Bridges that work with "300Mbs"?
-should I get a modern WiFi extender and add the PC to my Asus mesh?
-Should I get an older asus router and put that into bridge mode?

any input appreciated.

Wifi on Win98 isn't fun. Much better to use a bridge of some sort.

Although what I actually did was use powerline adapters, One near the router, other was direct into a PC but now goes to a switch as my retro fleet grew.
100Mb was fast enough for old PC's

I use a TP-Link RE305/AC1200 (current replacement of the RE200/AC750). Took a little bit of work but have 8 port switch connected, for 3 computers and ether printer.
Added: tried a Linksys RE6300 but it had issues with my main router....some compatibilty thing...

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
