Been playing Yoda Stories. No joke. I love this little game. I wish someone would update the engine or remake it or something.

Unfortunately I believe the unofficial patch won't install on 98. Sticking with the original textures as I'm running on a Voodoo3.
Unreal shows what games can be when freed from the restrictions of a real world setting. Shame that so many games these days are hellbent on "authenticity".
been playing super liam. currently on the second level with the sewers, what a shitty way to die.
to win the game you must defeat coppa!

It will install on 98. You just have to get an older version. If you scroll down, it is version 227d that is the newest version that installs on Win9x. I could not find the info anywhere, but I figured it out by trial and error.

Good to know, thanks.
I don't recommend the 227 patch unless you're playing with the later releases, due the simple fact 227's public release is more or less "beta software" and is yet to be actually finalized.

I've played about halfway through Unreal on a Win98 rig with 227d. No issues. The way I see it, the 227 patch works on never-fixed bugs from the final official release, so even with an old rev of 227 you're still ahead of the game.

Finished Unreal at the weekend with the last official patch. Only noticed a few minor issues - a broken lift and some incorrectly lit stairs in a later level. Nothing major. Cool game, I enjoyed it 😎

Yeah "incorrectly lit" is a common pitfall with Unreal's CSG system and the way lighting is baked into the maps. I go through hell trying to get that fixed when I was making maps for the game.

Just beaten F.E.A.R. and now playing "Extraction Point" expansion. Great game. Will be playing the other expansion and F.E.A.R. 2 after finishing this.

On PS4 I am playing Bloodborne, or rather Bloodborne is playing me, as I continually die 🙁 On my main PC I play Diablo III and on my retro PCs I play "Need for Speed Porsche" and things like "Broken Sword" or Monkey Island 2.

I finished WC3 on Saturday and am deciding what game to commit to next. I'm about halfway through System Shock but have not played it regularly for about a month. I could dive back in and finish that. I'm also on the Boss of Ep1 Duke3D and can't seem to beat it. Maybe I try again or just skip the boss and go to Ep2. About halfway through Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, playing through ScummVM on XP (love the MT-32 emulation!). I've got WC4 and Prophecy via GOG.com. Could go there...so many choices. 🤣.

After playing MGSV and Fallout4 for months, and essentially finishing them as much as I wanted to, I moved on to some online gaming I've been meaning to try. I'm playing CounterStrike:GO at the office on Lunch breaks. In the evening I've been playing Rocket League and GTAV:Online.
I have the say that the heists in GTAV:Online are a hoot when you actually find a good group of blokes to play with. Needless to say, it does not happen 100% of the time. Rocket League is great fun in small bursts since matches only last 5 minutes.
Gothic 2 Night of the Raven once more, this time I started making mage. I also tried hard L`Hiver mod to this game, and almost ended that.

You're brave - Night of the Raven is hard enough as it is in my book! Great game though - have you tried Vurts texture mod? Looks good I think.
Life? Don't talk to me about life.
I ended that game almost 7 times and for me is now easy, I know how to play so i don`t have any problems, even L`Hiver isn`t hard, was harder a little only on beginning 😀 I tried Vurts texture pack but now I play without any addons. Years ago I started mage and I was after dragons but I lose saves with that, other times I ended game as paladin or dragon slayer and with or without beliar claw. With one handed beliar claw game is very easy. I play it on my retro rig (Sempron 2800+S754 with R9550U) and run very smooth even at 300% land distance drawing.

Over the past week or so, I've played Skyrim (as an archer, I've not yet tried a melee (sword/axe/etc) or magic build), Perfect Dark (still the best game ever, the last time I played was me vs three teams of bots in multiplayer), and Singularity (first person shooter, sort of like Bioshock merged with Half-Life 2).
All great games, but with Singularity I felt like I was just going through the motions, as (like Bioshock and Half-Life 2, etc) the fact that it has so many memorable and scripted scenes unfortunately harms the re-playability, as you always remember what comes next.
Edit: I'm about to start Deus Ex (another superb game) with the mod GMDX 8 (http://www.moddb.com/mods/gmdx).
Awesome topic! So great to see everyone playing some of these old games on the original hardware with CRTs!!!! Snaps like this make me realize that going the CRT shader route for my DOSBox Daum builds & retroarch was the right way to go for all my emulation needs. Thanks, guys, for the memories 😀
And yes, both Doom and Doom 2 always leave me wanting for more. Time to load some custom maps I haven't played in years 😁 😎
Doom II is, in my not so humble opinion, the greatest game on any system that has ever existed. To this day, there has never been anything like the ArchVille (affectionately referred to as "archies" by the Doom community) in game design. I mean, a necromancer who's sole purpose is to make your existence miserable by resurrecting the baddies you just cleared out, one at a time. I still play those brilliant usermaps & megawads made by fans & modders for Doom & Doom II. Best. Game. Ever.
