EVGA GeForce 6800 Ultra 256MB PCI-e for about $40 shipped US. Their stuff looked so damn crap back then. Hard to believe they are where they are now.

For left, center, and right speakers of your 5.1 gaming setup. Sure, they're not Wilson Audio, but they're still magnitudes better than most multimedia speakers.
Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

Remember we were talking about 24/8 7800GS AGP cards? One of those was for sale all along:

EVGA GeForce 6800 Ultra 256MB PCI-e for about $40 shipped US

Looks good, but it will be a pain to clean from dust without damaging cooler sticker.

For the price they are asking, they better be.

Compared to typical multimedia speakers? You won't get disappointed. My current setup are JBL L20T's, a slightly bigger version than 4401 (actually L20T is equal to 4406, a slightly bigger brother to 4401). From nearfield position, I don't need sub to enjoy the bass.

This is not an ebay auction, but a position in a local computer shop. A new old stock boxed Geforce FX 5500 with passive cooling: FX 5500 (Russian language). Price is $45. If there's any interest, I may buy some and send somewhere.

PCI and VLB! Neat! Not a fan of the price though.

I posted a PCI/VLB Asus board that was only $50 US shipped. Wasn't as nice as this (only 2 SIMM), but still.

Anyways:
Gemlight Socket 7 AT board, 430TX based for around $30 US shipped

That's another card! The first one is sold. This one has the original cooling and a CD with the drivers. Looks way much better than the previous one...

Someone was actually stupid enough to pay $600 USD for an underperforming budget GPU?.....

They realize there's a reason it never made it to manufacture right?

To majority of people even using a 20+ years old computer is stupid ;)

Everyone has it's own reasons for buying old stuff even for insane prices

I'm angry because you called me a "scumbag" without a reason... My english... this is international forum - not everyone have to use proper BBC english - even if you don't like it.

I officially withdraw from this discussion.

Id like to point out that I only said you were scumbags if this is true. If it's not then I guess you have nothing to be offended over.

I'm sorry to Batyra and VooDooMan, I shouldn't have written like it was a fact. It looked suspicious, and should have been handled differently.

I went and read the rules on the first post of this thread:

RULES:

1. IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO PROMOTE YOUR OWN AUCTIONS IN THIS THREAD!

I was under the impression this meant -WE- do not make posts to the thread, ourselves, to point to our own auctions, I understand that part. But where does it say having another user post one of our auctions to the thread is against some rule? Unless I'm blind.. it doesn't say that.

I'd still say that getting someone else to post your auctions is the same as posting it directly. VooDooMan also didn't mention it was his auction in his response. Albeit he was under no obligation on the current rules to state it was his own auction, in my opinion you should either mention it's your auction or just don't comment on it at all. A moderator/admin should decide if the rules should be updated to clarify this.

VooDooMan also didn't mention it was his auction and indirectly promoted it with saying it included the CD and looks better than the previous one. If a moderator/admin wants the rules to be updated to take this into account, please let me know.

It's all OK :) . I didn't know that it will cause so much confusion. I just follow auction from Poland because of much lower shipping costs and no custom fees. When I saw something so expensive twice in a row I thought it might be interesting - thats all.
