I found this surprising, an "as-is" Creative 3D Blaster VLB CT6200 is going for $455 and the price continues to climb. https://www.ebay.com/itm/122964246786

Full of misleading information: fully operational, As-is, money back guarantee, no returns, AGP format.

Sold for $710 "as-is" Anyone from here?

Sure as heck ain't me. Those cards are rare and only the PCI variants were more common and cheap, unless reviewed by a YouTube user, then prices go through the roof.

I was the one who bought it. I realized the odd information in the auction too, but it sounded like they just didn't know what they had. I'll post a thread on here with updates on it.

Audician 32 -- someone seems to think that now that these all vanished from ebay just 3 months ago that the price is to be inflated 130%. Now with "Vintage" tag !

That is pretty cheeky, that was a 10 dollar card not too long ago 😵

Life? Don't talk to me about life.

The seller wasn't very friendly. I informed him "as-is" in the description doesn't save him from a "used: fully operational" listing if the item is defective. So if it doesn't work, he's been fairly well informed. Are you in the USA? This listing may only ship to the USA.

Yep, I'm on the east coast so I hope he packs it well.

How were they not friendly? Did they just blow off the suggestion and go to the "I know what I'm doing, blah blah blah" routine? I've had way too many sellers do that when I make an offer, only to still see their stuff sitting even to this day.

One reason why I decided to pull the trigger is them listing it as "Used", so that should give me some leverage if it is faulty. The other being the accessories it comes with since I'm trying to scan in any documents/CD labels/floppy labels for this and other cards from the era. Hopefully they don't forget something when they ship it 😵

Well, I wouldn't expect any anti-static bag with it, unless it was originally packed in one.

I posted that seller's response in this thread, Re: Fully operational, As-is sales
I responded to him very politely two more times as to what "used" means, etc. He never responded back again. I even sent him a screenshot with the highlighed "fully operational" heading.

Have a look at the bottom ram expansion connector of the closeup PCB photo. The pins on the right side are bent, the 2 rightmost pins are clearly touching.
Depending on their use, could make the card currently inoperable, or at worst, fried already when the seller tried to "test" the card before sale.

Judging by sellers history he/she is not PC hardware entusiast with VLB motherboard lying around. Very doubful if it was tested at all.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

He listed the card as "AGP", so he clearly has no idea what it is. I hope that those two touching pins on the card were bent after it was pulled. Be sure to straighten those out before turning it on.

This.
The last iteration of the 3Dfx Voodoo series, the "3Dfx Voodoo 5 5500" (Voodoo 5 6000 only exists in prototypes). On eBay, it is sold as an auction at a starting bid price of $510.00.

AGAIN: Ladies and Gentlemen, this thread is about ridiculously priced auctions. It's drifting more and more towards an advertising of auctions and senseless discussions.

On eBay, it is sold as an auction at a starting bid price of $510.00 (like you were purchasing it in the year 2000). It is not cheap and easy to find nowadays (as of 2017) buy those types of graphic cards (even the legendary GeForce 4 Ti 4400 and 4600).

Charity auction could be part of why its so high. Last I look new 5500 were around the 2-300$ mark.

Are these really worth this much? Similar ones have sold for around $400 which is still quite a lot. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Matrox-Orion-ORI-AGP … rd/132491297405

I agree with your statement. This thread's boat is sinking while everyone's on board with no lifeboats, life preservers (or floats), and no way out, just like the Titanic.

Edit: here's an Commodore Amiga 1200 Amazing Package! at $949 + S&H (bidding), however, the system is bundled with everything. This'll be my last eBay post on here.
