Tnx but - 2016 as the iso creation date... Homemade. Can't add.

So.. if somebody had the original disc and made an image of it, it is homemade?

These were downloaded from betaarchive and they don't allow fake releases.

The only other option is to find original downloadable ISOs from Microsoft. Good luck doing that.

No. If the cd-image is made correctly.
Above cd-images have cd-descriptors (creation and modification dates) and directories creation dates from 2016. Cds from 1995-1996 have future dates? Not funny.
Normal cd-imaging process not changes the cd content. Dates included.

Great thread! Few years ago I tried to fill the gaps in my collection but I couldn't find all of the old SDKs. I see now that I was not alone in this. Thanks for sharing these files. By the way I'm looking for the dxsdk_sum2004_symbols.exe . Actualy any of the symbols collection from 2004 or 2005 would be great!

In case you are still looking for the "authentic" DirectX 1-3 SDKs: Here is a blog post by one of the original developers containing the files he copied from his old disks
The DirectX 1 SDK from the post is an earlier version than the "Game SDK" ISO.
The DirectX 2 SDK contains the same files but has correct folder modification dates and most file modification dates are one day earlier than the dates in the ISO version.
The DirectX 3 SDK contains more content than the available ISO version, also with file modification dates one day earlier.

Unless someone rips the old disks with the correct descriptors, I don't think there will be a better source.

I am surprised to find that I had downloaded dxsdk_feb2005_extras.exe in April 2011 (Stiletto mentioned this file in a previous post in this thread). Just dumped it, and it has some debug .DLLs for DirectSound and perhaps everything for DirectShow (developer runtimes, docs, code samples, etc.). File size is 37,361,416 bytes.

I have a copy of the Game SDK dated 9/28/1995, appears to be the final release of DirectX 1. It is not on a separate CD though, its part of a 1996 MSDN SDKs installer disc.

I am interested in the extras (as well as the other still-unavailable files mentioned by Stiletto). Would you mind uploading it?

I think as long as it is not just a folder, but a self extracting archive, this would be a good source.

Self extracting archives were not common for software distribution in 1995. All the files are compressed by a typical Microsoft installer with underscore extensions.

Have dxsdk_sum2004_extras.exe.

Have you considered uploading the SDKs to archive.org? I think it would be great to have a permanent, central collection of the verified SDKs. Then someone looking for a specific version can download it from there rather than having to search through various forums for discussions containing dead links.

I just noticed that your collection ist missing the "dx90updatesdk.exe"(Summer 2003). Do you want to include that?

Do you mean they are unsigned? sigcheck.exe is able to verify them normally.

Signatures are present. My system can't get a CRL for these certificates.
2005 and later signatures are checked w/o errors and the chain is same: MS Root Authority and MS Code Signing PCA.

Why someone needs a permission to do this?

I thought you may have had a reason for putting the files in a torrent rather than uploading to a public site.
Since you don't mind, I will go ahead and upload the files.

Did anyone download the dx9 extras which cyclone3d uploaded?
