Like vintage computers, replicas, and new projects? Then we have another VCF event for you!

VCF West will be this Saturday and Sunday (August 3rd and 4th) at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. Here are some things to look forward to:

  • The Atari 400/800 computers on Atari's 40th anniversary
  • The Wonderful World of Quake
  • Rare Computers from Japan
  • Tandy/TRS-80 Color Computers
  • The History of Videogames

Presentations will include talks on the Apollo Guidance Computer and an Apple 1 owners discussion panel. We are going to have over 10 Apple 1s in the room for the event!

Wow !
At $400,000 each auction price of the Apple-1 that is going to be allot of computer value in that room.
You cloud auction one off and buy a BIG house.
I hope they have very tight security.

Security was good. You can count on that.

Besides the Apple 1s we had a lot of other great things to look at and touch:

  • Quake running on several different architectures, including a PowerPC AIX workstation
  • The IBM PC family (including a PCjr!)
  • TACOBOT: A homebrew computer running an arcade style game.
  • Atari 400/800s (celebrating the 40th anniversary)
  • The Apollo Guidance Computer
  • A Xerox Star
  • Rare computers from Japan, including PC-98 systems and an MSX2+
  • The Cactus 6502 based homebrew computer
  • The MOnSter 6502 project (a complete, working 6502 CPU implemented with 4769 components

And remember, the exhibits are fun but the people are even better ...
