That's also happening to me as well, had to run the web browser in private mode to get the game.

Didn't work for me in Chrome, worked in Firefox.

Had to clear data for gog.com in Chrome settings, but got it to work.

Yes, https://www.gog.com/partner/free_games has been known for years now. I don't know what kind of fake "deals" that site running, but from what I can see, they just list those free GOG games but put the links behind some ad-click scam. Fortunately uBlock Origin deals with this kind of crap and gave me a "blocked site" error page.

Edit: Found private mode in the application menu, got gog to add the game to the catalog and log into my yahoo email from firefox. Anyone know what causes this that requires using private mode?

Well, email worked by default once I disabled dark reader extension, and double checked, that was it. Can turn it back on after logging in but something changed that's not compatible with logins.

also ask in the gog forums, people got duplicate codes because they bought the game and got an additional free gift code from the giveaway. dont make much sense but you can trade it if you got it. like a free gift you give it to someone so they now own the game legally.
