Also! If you have a smart phone, there is an official pip boy app. The thing works perfectly! The phone and computer both need to be on the same wifi network, and I had to play a few minutes with my software firewall, but it looks and works exactly like the pip boy in game. It makes fast travel so quick!

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I'm liking Fallout 4 the more I play it. I've gotten used to the new leveling system, although I think I may have gimped my char with my 1 charisma. 🙁

Dogmeat is soooooo awesome. And adorable.

I got my power armor a bit earlier than I should have by stumbling across a fusion core and then a downed vertibird with a power armor suit nearby. I then found a raider camp that had a mini gun and beat them all to death with my baton. That was a bit tense, as I had to flank the byatch with the mini gun lest she kill me (the other raiders were too weak). Once I took her out, the rest turned into giblets quickly.

I need to get it running on my desktop with nicer graphics and see what it looks like on the bigscreen, the atmosphere is gorgeous. Radioactive rainstorms? That freaked me out when I realized I was taking rads. Don't go swimming either.

Simply put, amazing game. I wouldn't wait too long to buy it, if you are on the fence. If you're on a budget, then wait the 6 months or year for the GOTY version, you may need to save for a newer graphics card as well although I think a 750ti will run it competently. I have no clue what the min cpu is but it probably is Core i3-i7 territory and several gigs of RAM. It runs well on my laptop, I have a Core i7 quad with over 8GB but the Quadro 2000 with 2gb vram struggles at times. Trying to figure out a way to lower the resolution below 1280x720, my experiments with editing the .ini file so ar have not been fruitful.

You can add more points to any stat that may be too low when you level up.

As for Dogmeat, I don't see how anyone could possibly think that is the same breed of dog from the Road Warrior movie. It is clearly a much larger breed. It looks more like a German Shepherd in both size and markings than an Australian Cattle Dog.

46 hours in at level 25 and I have just boarded the Prydwen, too many side quests but I have managed to get as far as killing Kellog in the main quest line.

Huge game.... Loving the depth of it......I have 5 or 6 settlements all with 15 or so people in... you could spend months building towns - Didn't realize you could scrap everything including some of the houses in each settlement for bulk materials 😀

Im wearing a full suit of T51 calibrated military power armor and my weapon of choice is Kremvh's Tooth.

As soon as I heard Kells voice on board the Prydwen I had no doubt it was Lt Tuvak (Tim Russ) from Star Trek Voyager 😀

Cool game and great graphics even if they are the usual bleak nuclear falloutness 😐

How cool is it that as soon as an NPC turns their head you can quickly steal if no one else is watching:)

A full suit of Flaming T60 Power Armour with a super sledge hammer weapon. The targeting HUD mod for your power armor helmet is awesome....I picked up a couple of X01 Power Armour pieces but I miss out on my set bonus if I use them.

My cities are a mess ... but I noticed you can build a tower and put turrets on top ..then remove the stairs making the turrets a bitch to get to when raiders attack.

You can't use a mouse and keyboard and masturbate at the same time. Not enough hands.

You just shouldn't be allowed near a keyboard period buddy, regardless of what your other hand is doing.

at some point I will probably get Fallout 4 , but Im gonna wait a while for at least some of the bugs to be patched, either that or wait and see if the price drops on Steam during the Christmas sale.

I did the same thing with New Vegas , I heard the game was very glitchy (as Bethesda games tend to be) and so I waited a few months before getting it.

at the very least I can say my PC is going to run the game decently at least (i5 3570k , 8GB DDR3 , 2GB GF770).

I am enjoying F4 even if there are some glitches. I have started from scratch because I wasn't satisfied with my previous character.

And why is that, exactly? Does hearing the truth make you uncomfortable?

I have had one major hard crash where I had to switch the power off to my PC and an infinite loading screen when my SSD got full and my last save game was 0 bytes.

I've put substantial time in at over 80 hours or so and I can tell you its extremely stable and polished. I have experienced a few minor annoyances that are clearly bugs or things that need to be developed further.

Things like ammo not showing correctly in a power suit, a ghoul laying on the ground and not getting up, settlers doing weird things when I've ordered them to a task, "fov 100" makes your Pip-Boy screen extremely small and its difficult to read, trade routes provinsors are a bit flaky and the same settlement being attacked every 5 minutes - nothing to cry about or game ending.

With a super sledge, 80% melee damage and a couple of mods I had to turn the difficulty up because everything was one hit one kill.

Loading times are awesome and the game is stable and fast with graphics on Ultra.

The complete opposite of my experience with Skyrim on its release.

One of the things that has kind of amused me, because Bethesda got it wrong in both games:

In Morrowind, traders had an odd habit of equipping the best armor/etc that you ever sell to them, even though they do not reside in a dangerous area and that merchandise would have been worth a lot to re-sell. It also made them look rather strange for a trader.

In Fallout 3, traders never equip anything you sell to them, even though they are walking through dangerous territory and are quite able to be killed. Items you sell to them are kept in a separate inventory that their AI can't use. It would have made a lot more sense if they would equip themselves and their escorts with the best equipment they had on hand. The only workaround was to reverse-pickpocket some gear onto them, because this way it goes into their personal inventory instead of the "store".

So basically, traders in Morrowind should have acted like they do in Fallout 3, and traders in Fallout 3 should have behaved like they do in Morrowind.

How do the traders in Fallout 4 behave?

sliderider: I thought the music is much better in Fallout 4 than the last Fallout, are you sure its recycled? Fallout 3 was so bleak and depressing...music included...but Fallout 4 has very upbeat ambient music especially cruising around town... its very nice and hopeful 😀

shamino: Traders don't auto swap out their preferred armor and equip armor with better values however I'm not sure what they do when they have no items and you sell them a single piece of armor. All NPC's will auto equip whatever they have in their inventory as far as weapons go when entering combat.

They really dropped the ball on supply routes / trade routes. The only way to cancel a trade route you setup is to actually search and find the provinsor at there start or finish point and re-assign them. If you find them in route you have to walk all the way back with them. (that can take an hour at their slow pace) I ended up having to execute my settler and her Brahmin because it just took too long.

Were you even listening to the songs on the radio? They are exactly the same songs that were played on Galaxy News Radio in Fallout 3.

Oh. and BTW, I started picking up a distress beacon at the Red Rocket station up the road from Sanctuary. The signal seems to be coming from a certain corner of the garage area, but I can't locate the transmitter. Does anyone know anything about this? It just started recently, it wasn't there a few days ago. I did find a couple of distress beacons as part of the Brotherhood of Steel quests but I recycled them for the parts. They shouldn't be functioning any longer. This is really bugging the heck out of me. I should probably build some stairs and check up on the roof. Whatever it is might be up there since it's the only place I haven't checked yet.
