Hi guys,

Bit of an odd request but does anybody know of any way of implementing video scalers that you can find in DosBox in other games that cant run in DosBox for various reasons.

In this case I really want to be able to play Quake II but with a tv2x scaler?

Are there any other programmes that can provide such an option or is there a way of running Win95 in DosBox?

Many thanks

Rhys

This post doesn't belong in the DosBox forum.

ATI cards comes with the ability to use pixel shaders. Then you can use a tv2x scaler assuming someone has already programed one.

Window 95 can run in DosBox but it is not ideal. You want Qemu/VirtualBox/VPC/Vmware/etc if you want to run Win95.

So how would you describe not ideal?

I'm giving some serious thought to attempting to install Win 95 in DosBox as I have a very naff inbuilt Intel 945GM graphics card and havent the first clue IF or indeed where I could find these scalers/pixel shaders for it.

Thanks

Not ideal

Only runs in 16 colors.
Throws up GPF's every now and then.
Possibly may crash DosBox every once in a while.
Will be alot slower than other emulators.
