I spent many hours playing Links LS 99 back in the day. I was even world-ranked on LS Online for a period of time. Played many rounds with the recognized #1 player and even beat him a couple of times. 😉 We were pretty much all the same crowd from the Links386 days all the way through the LS series. Good times...
Thank you bjt, that is a nice heads up, I appreciate it. However like you said a bit banged and since I have to ship it to US it would be 33 quid or about $50. A bit too much for something in that condition. 😀
You must have the CD from the Enhanced version in your original box.
That's what I figured at first as well, but the disc contains only the original VGA & EGA Battle Chess (and is dated 1990, pre-enhanced version). Strangely enough Future Wars is on there as well, could be a demo, but looks like the full version.
Possibly an OEM disc? Or maybe something only available directly via Interplay? Doesn't look like your typical shovelware disc anyway.
Battle Chess cdrom edition by Dice Computer Games maybe?

Went into one of my regular thrift / secondhand shops yesterday. Usually this one has next to nothing for gaming / computer / electronics stuff (I was looking for jeans & interesting vinyl.) So I was pretty stoked to find these in a bin of "5 for $1" CDs. 20c each! [...]
From a different branch of the same thrift shop, I managed to find a jewel case of C&C: the Covert Ops - 50 cents well spent:
Here's my not-really-intentional jewel-case C&C collection. Featuring most of the versions I care about (all the DOS ones 😉 ) :
The Red Alert game discs and C&C1 double-pack (Civ II is on the other side) came from a flea market a couple years ago. I also have (somewhere) C&C1 for the Sega Saturn(!).
The irony is I haven't even installed and played any of them. The DOS C&C titles were definitely some of my favorites back in the '90s and I played the hell out of them then (and made a bunch of mods too!), but these days I just don't have time for a 'big' involved strategy game. Maybe have to rectify that in the near future. 😉 I've been listening to the CD-audio a lot though!
twitch.tv/oldskooljay - playing the obscure, forgotten & weird - most Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 6:30 PM PDT. Bonus streams elsewhen!
There’ve been some bodacious games posted in this thread of late. Here's my humble efforts - I've been re-buying some faves which I already own, but for which I'd thrown out the boxes long ago.
Not that there's much in the boxes of this era, but they're better than nothing and present well on the shelf. I've been looking for a physical copy of The Witcher 3 that's worth owning and it seems to only come in a crappy plastic DVD case, unless of course you want to pay hundreds for the coffin sized collector’s edition.
I like those US-style "medium" boxes. Still give a good vibe while not taking up as much room on the shelf.
My latest pickups, pleased to finally get a copy of GK1 and SOMI. Both are heavily targeted by resellers on UK eBay so it's hard to find them for a decent price.
Love the non-original floppies on Knights. 🤣. They were asking $6 for Knights, and $20 each for the Ultimas. I offered $35 for all three and they took it in a heartbeat. I probably should've offered $30, but it was worth it to me for the maps, manuals and moonstone. 😎
I am not a big box collector, I just bought these for nostalgia.
Got Doom3 for $5 and the two NES titles for $15 total. I recently saw Xexyz on Metal Jesus' Hidden Gems and got Ultima just because I'm a fan of the series on Apple II and PC.

Nice one! Lots of satisfaction in owning and playing through the Gold Boxes 😉
(recent arrivals include Unlimited Adventures and the DM's Assistant Vol 1 & 2, and Heroes of the Lance (not pictured))
Yeah, I love the SSI stuff too, can I ask though, what are the two games between War of the Lance and the Eye of the Beholders, I don't recognize them? EDIT: Never mind they're the DM assistants right?
Yep, I haven't seen one on UK eBay for months. Some in Germany but I'd rather have English-language packaging.
I ended up buying it in a bundle with SWOTL and Loom from South Korea (!)
