My younger sisters had that Barbie game and they loved how they can make clothes for their dolls. It was a very impressive piece of software for it's time.

When focussed on FPS, RTS, RPG and other games we can forget that in the game dev world there could be just as much skill and innovation in the kinds of games often seen as uncool or 'for kids' or whatever. in that sense when such a title turns up in a lot its not a waste, more like an oddity / bonus, kind of ineresting

I completely agree. I setup a socket A system for my boys to play with all my old educational games from the early 90s to the early 2000s and they love them all. They both really enjoy all the magic school bus games.

Nice !
All great games (except i never played the sims)

I see Close Combat trilogy. I'm a very big fan of CC2. My father bought it in 98 and i played it extensively since then.
There is also a fan made mod that completely changes the content into the historical north african campaign of WW2. Very good too

Getting ready for my first playthrough of the Halo series. I might also grab the original version of Halo CE, as I heard that the Anniversary Edition isn't quite as good.

Your in for a really good time. I really loved the early Halo games. I would suggest getting Halo ODST it's also a ton of fun to play through

That is quite the stack of super fun games. Quake wars was a blast when I came out I'm not 100% sure if it's still has servers up but I know there have been lots of private servers for it.

It would appear that Quake Wars is still playable today from a quick search I just did. Splash Damage still has it's page up with the demo and patches all still available for download. It also looks like they have a map makers as well. I might have to dig out my copy and give it a shot.

Heh, not necessarily all of them at once. 😀

Cheers! I do intend to get the rest after I've completed the mainline entries. I've been hearing good things about the entire Halo series for a while now. Decided to finally try the games out for myself.

Well, I wanted to get the mainline entries first. Both ODST and Reach are on my wanted list, so I will eventually grab them as well.

Not sure how they fit into the plot though, as I still need to check which order I should be playing the games in. From what I gather, starting with Halo 1 > Halo 2 > Halo 3 should be reasonable. I get a bit confused from there on though. 😀

Reach is a prequel for the first one. Though I'd recommend release order.

I've never played the CC games before. I'd been thinking about trying them a few weeks back and then lucked out found the trilogy for sale at a local thrift shop for a couple bucks. 😀

I'd never played Quake Wars before, but I figured I'd grab it since it was only a few bucks. I think it can be played with bots if I understand it correctly?

Did another thrift store run today and lucked out with a decent haul.

More Sims games, a pile of tactical shooters, and even a complete-in-box copy of Links 386 CD. The Rainbox Six games also came with all their original manuals (not pictured).

All the games I have found over the last month at the Value Village's in St.Albert, Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and Spruce Grove. I never really payed attention to the CD/DVD section, but I think I will. Most of the games are $2.99-$4.99/ea. There are a couple of the Sims/Sims 2 expansions that didn't have the manuals/serial key's so will have to keep an eye out for those one. Maybe I'll be able to find all the expansions for cheap one day. The Command and Conquer I found out is the DOS version, so it wouldn't install under Windows 98 SE. The C&C Generals Deluxe is missing the second disc of the expansion, but that's okay as I still have my original discs.
