Sorry man, I had one and just parted ways with it about 2 weeks ago, fully tested after some cleaning and it was in good working order.
It went to a nice home along with the Super Socket 7 Motherboard and CPU I tested it with 😁

Aren't 3dfx 5500 AGP quite plentiful on ebay?

I can get one locally here for around $10-15 but they don't show up very often

Those prices are a bit steep! V5's are cheaper here in the UK and i've got my eyes on one at the moment 😀
I no longer need another V5 as i've just repaired mine 😀
I think i did a fairly clean job considering i hve no experience soldering SMD components... and i used a standard 30W soldering iron with a fine tip.

Nice work, but I must inquire what happened to your V5 5500 AGP?! were tha capacitors bad or did they get knocked off?
If they were bad what kinda symptoms where you having?
I picked up my V5 5500 AGP a few weeks back for $50 shipped and very happy with it, just want to make sure if I should be doing preventative maintenance.

The caps got knocked off in the post... But my V5 is still going strong since the repair 😀
If your V5 is working then i would just leave it 😎
I bought a V3 on ebay that had a couple caps like this, resoldered and fixed it up in just a few minutes. I love the smell of flux burning in the morning.

My 5500's f'cked as well, one day it started artifacting. Then after that, it was f'ced. Wonder if baking it would help. Not sure my wife would like the oven being used for that though... 😜

You will most likely pop all the caps by baking it! They probably need replacing anyway.
