What do you think? I have made some tests on three different PCs (single-core and multi-core); all of them with 4GB RAM and Windows 7 32bits flavor and I have found out that Superfetch does indeed speed up a lot of common-usage operations (mostly disk I/O over time) but on the other hand the overall performance is BAD specially when multitasking (don't ask me why). Have anyone noticed this?.

So far, I have disabled Superfetch. Applications take a little more time to boot but overall multitasking performance is better imho.

I also ended up disabling Superfetch when I was running 7, for the same reasons you found. It didn't increase boot time by very much (and I usually just use sleep mode, so boot times weren't something I encountered much anyway), and it made the system noticeably more responsive overall. Superfetch really only seems to be useful when you have a slow hard drive, like a laptop drive or a 'green' drive, and even then it's a bit of a tradeoff.
