I've been looking around for awhile for a way to run a USB gamepad in a dos window for games like Carmageddon 1 series. After searching google there was a program called joytokey but that didn't work for me. Anything else I can try?

Specs:
*USB-2-Playstation2 adapter with genuine sony PS2 controller
*Windows 98SE
*Add-in USB 2.0 4-port PCI card

I also have a original MS Sidewinder (gameport connector) but and worked 1 time in carmageddon for about a minute or two and then lost the controller. probably the digital emulation issue.

I never had a proper Gameport gamepad so I wouldn't know how awesome carmageddon would be to play without the keyboard.

Been looiking around and found a few emulation programs and see one of the programs has a TSR setup. Will have to get around to checking it out.

*UPDATE*

I got it working!! Working well in Carmageddon Splat pack.

JoytoKey does work. Found you need to set the Auto key to max otherwise it only sees each input as a single stroke. Still need to tweak jtk a bit more but atleast it is working!
