Followed your advice and verified the images I have made so far. No problem with 3dfx Voodoo 4/5 and Creative Voodoo2 images, but I found some miscompares in Canopus Pure 3D image, and I think I know why. The original CD-ROM uses Mode 2 Form 1 layout, and I forced on-the-fly conversion to Mode 1 layout in order to create an ISO image, ignoring the advice of ImgBurn to use BIN format for this image. What should I do now?

- Create a custom ISO using ImgBurn Build mode, but it won't match the original CD-ROM at all.
- Create another image with BIN format to exactly match the original CD-ROM.
- Ignore the issue with the already exsting Pure 3D image and leave it as is.

Yes bin/cue it.

I bin/cue everything, it's easier to check for errors that way. I use Isobuster to extract raw, and then make a cue sheet for it. I then can use CDMage to check for errors in the image.

I had a question about the decoding of the Orchid Righteous 3d CD files. I used the accompanying unecm.exe program with one of the CD image files, but it does not seem to make it happen. I also tried to erase the .ecm extension to just .bin, for burning it through Nero on a real CD, but no files appear on the CD afterwards. What am I doing wrong?

By the way, I was wondering what that "Creative Graphics Blaster 3D" image was, so I ended up downloading it, and it happens to be a driver release for Cirrus Logic Laguna 3D. Cool stuff to have, but it has nothing to do with 3dfx actually.

I just checked it out of curiosity... the cd is really made for a Creative Graphics Blaster 3D card that is based on Laguna3D... 😁
I can see how RoyBatty thought it was for the voodoo1 card but it is really has nothing to do with 3Dfx ... 😊 😊

EDIT : I haven't opened the Orchid CD packages yet. Hopefully swaaye can answer to that ecm/unecm thingy.

well I think the "Graphics Blaster" CD that was thought to be for voodoo1 needs to go...

Ups, sorry about the Creative CD, my memory isn't so good these days and I no longer have the card, just the CD! 🤣.

For unecm, just drag and drop the .ecm encoded images onto unecm.exe. It will decode them into .bin images.
