I'm trying to remember the name of a black and white Lovecraftian game which I bought about 1994 or so. It was an adventure game that got a middling review from PC Gamer, but I was into Lovecraft so I bought it -- but returned it when I wouldn't work on my PC. Now I really regret that....

Anyway, it wasn't Shadow of the Comet, and for some reason I don't think it was Hound of Shadow even though that seems likely. Are there any other candidates?

In my experience, Toys R Us, at least, has always been spectacularly bad about cleaning out its old PC software inventory. The worst offender I ever saw was a sad copy of Majestic hanging around at full price long after the service had been discontinued.
