I am thinking maybe it has something to with with CTMU - it seems to only let you assign between 0 and 3

When I set up Duke 3D, it was only listing DMAs 5,6,7 for 16-bit - and the game runs fine

I think PNP cards were okay under Windows but NO GOOD under DOS.

16-bit audio can be squeezed through an 8-bit bus too and plugging in the 16-bit connector does not neccessarily mean the 16-bit bus is actually used.

Are you sure its not CT-4170? That is the 8-bit variant. I have one here.

Yea Creative made their cards even cheaper towards the end. I'm not sure if any games are honestly affected by this. The card should "just work".

On the other hand what I have no works - maybe better to leave well enough alone
