I have spray-painted cases before - no problem

I have a rusted-out power supply (part of a case I got at a flea-market, looks like it was stored in someone's garage)

I wonder if I could take the power supply apart and spraypaint it?

Probably not worth the trouble.... (but it would look cool)

sure you can... just make sure you avoid touching the metal parts

use rust reformer or POR15 (anything that uses tannic acid) to convert the rust to iron tannate, which stabilizers the steel and also primes it at the same time, making it ready for painting.... remove all loose rust flakes first and sand smooth as necessary of course 😀
