You know what they say, the most mentally insane do not know that they are! I almost feel sorry for the seller... the false hopes and delusion that they would actually get that for an AWE64.

The two people watching are probably only doing so for comical reasons.

Not to mention your gaming option is kinda limited with 286 anyway.

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

That isn't even an AWE64 Gold. It is just the SimmConn. (For a SoundBlasrer 😁).

I always get...almost insulted...when people list very high prices, but use very poor images, bad descriptions, or poor titles. It strikes me as lazy, and I assume ofher problems will result from that laziness.

Edit: Fats flingers.

It also has a GENUINE Creative Labs Sound Blaster PCI128 (PCI5100) sound card - don't frig around with knock-off sound cards and their useless compatibility modes, this is the REAL DEAL and ALL games work first time with it!

Don't bother trying to low ball me, I could sell the parts for more than this.

PICK UP ONLY! Don't ask for postage please.

As this is an old machine, terms are strictly AS IS with NO RETURNS.

Yeah $180AUD/$130USD for a bog stock socket 7 that your not willing to post but that soundcard is a real gem for retro gamers 😐 !!

So if you see one in the wild and at a good price, just get it.

is my view.

That link shouldn't have been posted in this thread, I don't understand what's so difficult to post eBay specials in this thread, and outrageous priced ones in the other one.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Still, possibly contemplating making a few of these. There does not seem to be much to it... I would say the 'time' to make would be the most costly factor rather than the parts/hardware itself.

Its a nice system but to build from scratch would cost like $200-$300 and it is not worth much more, the seller is out of his or her mind to expect $1500.

On a far away planet reading your posts in the year 10,191.

And it comes with the early P4-era Enermax power supplies that were famous for catching fire and blowing up (there were many multiple reports of it). And now it's quite a few years old.. I'm sure that helps matters even better with old capacitors in it.

Who wants to pay $35,000 for a (used) Apple IIe with about 10 boxes worth of accessories?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-e-IIe-Enhanced- … ~4AAOSwax5Y1G9S

Maybe you'd like to spend $600 on this Toshiba Satellite 330CDT that allegedly comes with it's original box.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toshiba-PA1272U-T2C-P … QIAAOSwPcJVRvO5

Sorry if the latter might have already been posted (since I've seen it listed for quite a while), I didn't have time to double-check but hey, It's still up at that price.

Or, How about a Dell Latitude C640 "Windows 98 gaming laptop" for $350?

I love how most of the auction text is devoted to his autobiography. Do you think I really care about who are you and what do you use the computer for? Talk about self-importance 🤣

What is with that picture? Also, "new in box", "box not included". WTF?

Fair price IMO. And it looks VERY cool. Reminds me of the computer from 1984 even though they don't look alike. Or a cold war soviet macintosh.
