Wow - yeah, $2468.76 in US. Record price.

Considering a PC can directly read a 3DO disc and the Phoenix Project runs the few 3DO games I like near perfect I am so glad one does not need this overpriced card. Just so out of bounds for most. Luckily the Phoenix Project was translated to English because trying to navigate the Russian was the suck.

Yea, and I can't fathom why anyone would buy a used retro computer. Isn't the point of a computer to get on the internet and browse dank memes as efficiently as possible?

That's a good reply. Still the price is kind insane given what it does. But that's just me.

Woah! I guess I've personally never looked into it, but as a 3DO owner this is great to know I can play my games on the PC as well using the original media.

In regards to the high price it's odd to me, I always figured an NV1 would go for more, but they don't. One this summer complete unopened went for around $400 if I'm remembering right.

Oh yeah. Stellar 7 Draxon's Revenge on the 3DO was the best version of Stellar 7. Runs like a charm and good Battlezone style fun.

WOW. Not gonna lie, a working 3DO Blaster is on my holy-grail hardware list and I've been after one for a LONG time, but that's pretty goddamn insane. The 3DO is one of my favorite consoles (next to the Dreamcast maybe) but even I'd have a hard time justifying more than a few hundred bucks for the Blaster version. I picked up a dev console with a beta disc from a major studio in the drive for three figures a while back. It's not a highly-valued system.

The ironic thing is it's probably never going to be installed or used; guessing it'll sit on the buyer's shelf, in its box, collecting dust for years & he'll take it down to show it to all three people who come over who might appreciate it. When he kicks the bucket and it goes to an estate sale, the retro fad will be LONG over and all the ASICs on the card will have rotted, rendering it forever useless. Hope I'm wrong. :P

Yeah I don't really get the point of "collecting" hardware you're not gonna use, but if that's your thing more power to you.

I trust you sent the internet archive or the beta archiving scene a copy of that disk right? And just out of curiosity what game?

Did the 3DO blaster sell or did eBay take the auction down?

Isn't that right under the amount that paypal starts to require more detailed/traceable/verified information?

Yep you nailed it, $2500 is the threshold. I know this because a few years ago I worked with a local friend (older, not so tech savvy) to help him buy a car off ebay for $2750 and pay with paypal. Wanted all sorts of crap. Social security #, name, address, previous 5 addresses, previous 4 employers, how long lived at each address, how long employed at each job, driver's license #, photo of driver's license unobstructed submitted to website, and I think a scan of his social security card as well.

Pseudo-mechanical keyboard. Rubber-dome but with actual switches beneath instead of most rubber-dome ones that are just rubber sitting on the PCB.

^^ The switches are not what's special about it. Look at it; look at the layout. 130 keys and it's also got programmable functions. Gateway shipped these with their premium systems back in the day & they're pretty unique.
