Serious question: I've seen these in thrift stores before and never thought much about em because I had assumed that the programmable functions required some sort of software that gateway provided with the system and probably useless without it. Any insight? Kinda off topic for ebay thread I suppose.. sorry about that.

Interesting lot of random things in the Netherlands. It's $45 shipping to the US. Tempted to bid on it if no one else does.

Assumptions can make you miss out on cool stuff.

There's no software required. There's an EEPROM onboard.

I've never seen anything like this so.. it compelled me to go figure out what it is. Apparently it was some sort of early VOIP thing: https://web.archive.org/web/19990208005933/http://quicknet.net:80/ Likely useless today as I believe it appeared to require specialized software to work.. and good luck finding that today.

Was just starting to look into this when you posted. Using ICQ number as a universal contact number? Interesting stuff. Almost sounds like Skype ages before Skype existed.

What I'm hoping, it will work with google voice. And I can use a real modem in a retro system to dial somewhere else. Or use it for my fax machine. (I still use one like once a month)

Or maybe I'll just use it with my banana phone: https://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/3e57a2 ... B-2008.jpg

update:

the oem software appears to be vapor at this point, but I found a lead. Mikrotik router OS supports the card natively. At least version 2.9 according to the pdf I found here: https://mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2.9/ip/telephony.pdf Other versions may also, but it would be cool to get a low power p3 and slap this card in it for giggles.

Your forgetting about the Aureal Votex daughter cards. 6 original CDs for different versions of Windows...which is worth something to some people. 12 SATA to IDE adapters which can be handy if you do a lot of builds. I know the value is subjective but if you happen to need half of what's in the lot then it's worth it.

Really interested if there are any practical use cases for this.

IMO an AGP slot is not really required. You can get decently fast PCI cards, such as a Quadro FX 600 which is perfectly fine for a workstation build.

And the price is showing up as $35 shipped for me.

I would be interested in that board except that I already have a dual PIII-S 1.4Ghz setup.

I think it has a onboard agp card. Looks like it has a vga out on the motherboard

Edit
Lokking closer it seem to have a cirrus logic chip on the board.
And it kooks like tgey dropped the price
