I'm not sure if this has been posted here before so apologies if a re-post!

I recently had to swap a CMOS battery on a 486 laptop and on my next restart it had set a password on the BIOS. Needless to say I had no idea what this was so I went searching online and found this list of default passwords. The AMI ones at least work so I'll post this here for others to use.

Default passwords are evil.

Even more evil is when you buy a store-bought computer and the password in place is NOT the default in order to discourage people from going into the BIOS to mess with things. True, it does help keep average people from breaking their systems but it also hinders experts from debugging problems and makes installing new hardware more difficult than it needs to be. x_x;

I once found a webpage that had lots of default passwords, but I can't remember where it was
