After installing windows 98 on 1Gb Transcend SSD, I ran some tests. The system (233MMX) goes smoother on it than on ST320413A and I guess, it'll be a significant improvement to 5x86-133 system back at my father's place.

The thing is, Sandra99 memory and CPU benchmark results are better on SDD for some reason.

If I run my system with ST320413A, I get 100/97 memory score, 606/288 CPU score 615/210 MMX score, while with SSD the scores are 102/99, 658/301, 617/210 respectively.

Same OSes, same drivers, same hardware. It seems like Sandra CPU/memory scores are affected by HDD read speed. I feel lazy, but I'll soon install it on some slower drives to confirm this.

The old sandra had a time-based bug. You could just slow down the system clock and get incredible results. Maybe it has also something to do with that.
