I have a desktop PC in my studio. Every time I go to Home of the Underdogs website on that particular computer (by typing htttp://www.hotud.org in Firefox address bar), I'm always redirected to http://payday-zaeb.co.uk/ , which is apparently a deceitful payday loan phishing scheme (vomits).

Oddly enough, when I'm using Internet Explorer, I can go to HOTUD website normally.

I suspect the payday loan phishing website has hijacked my Firefox. And to be honest, this particular computer is not "clean"; it has been used by many people. I plan to reformat the hard drive and installing a fresh copy of Windows anyway, but haven't got the time yet.

What is the easiest way to return Firefox to normal?

Well I'm just disgusted by the fact that (corporate-bribed) lawmakers are busy writing SOPA, PIPA, etc, but nobody writes the laws against phishing sites, browser-hijacking sites, malware sites, download sites with trojan downloader, spam sites, etc. In fact, when it goes to spam, they have made it legal by the CAN SPAM act. What a fitting name, by the way.

Makes me wonder what basis they're using to write laws these days.

Exactly, this is why, but I also see your point of why there isn't more emphasis placed on protecting consumers.

But I'm sure it's due to getting in the way of corporate greed and profits 🙁

Makes me wonder: have we changed that much?

In the dark ages, law was written to protect the nobles and screw the peasants. In the modern age, law seems to be written to protect the corporations and screw the consumers. Consider the CAN SPAM Act (what a fitting name), the DMCA, the Lex Karpela law that punishes copyright infringement perperators worse than rapist.

Where's the law against browser hijacker? Against malware/trojan creators? Against email spammers?

Either we haven't changed that much, or I have to change my avatar into the following comicbook superhero. Behold, your friendly neighborhood "commie" archer! 😉

Nice Green Arrow reference 😀

As for HUMAN's well, no as a species we have not changed in many ways and have in others.

To tell you the truth I really think things like greed will always be a part of human nature, be it wealth and/or power it seems these go hand in hand.

However in some ways it's amazing that as a species we have lived this long due to some of these traits.
