Plasma pros :

Plasmas cons:

Lifetime and marking problems are two different things 😉
Whatever you use it on, plasma cells lose their gaz after some time, IIRC.

response time, input lag, less bleeding and blur, whiter whites, deeper blacks. Yes the heat generated by a plasma is great in winter or on a cold night 😀

I think led picture quality is super bright and unrealistic.
I just sold a 58 inch VT20A plasma - Panasonic's 2010 flagship model and when i loaded Skyrim on that for the first time my jaw dropped. It had amazing picture quality.

As for image retention or screen burn I have never had it happen even with my first gen Samsung plasma. I just need it to last a solid 5 years and ill upgrade.

Play Skyrim on a Panasonic VT20A and you will be converted 😀

The one thing i dislike is power consumption due to Australia having some of the highest electricity prices in the world.

Yeah but it's for export only. The enviro-loons have practically made it illegal to use just like in every other industrialized country that they are trying to cast back into a pre-industrial age.

Plasma TVs are generally thicker than LCDs and use more energy. They are generally less bright than an LCD. On the other hand, they are cheaper as you get more expensive and display the full resolution with 3D enhanced material. LCDs cannot show as resolution in 3D motion.

If you're going to do something stupid like play games on a tv, you might as well just get a PS3 and play skyrim on that.

You want to unleash shyrim? play on one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/160993969961

Mine is powered by an ati 7970, glorious card. great framerate even at 2560x1600 max settings.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Two of my gaming systems - one is XP and another is a PII system - are connected to my LCD TV, in addition to the PS3, PSOne, and the cable tv set.
