I'm still working on Metro Exodus, it hasn't really grabbed me, so I also started on Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I am slowly working my way through both though Shadow of the Tomb Raider has captured my attention far more...

Finished both Metro Exodus and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. In the end both had something to recommend them. The end of Exodus was particularly strong though I was surprised by how it cut off a little early in the story i felt. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was enjoyable if not quite as interesting scenario wise as the previous games, they tried to make up for it with several graphical spectacles as you run from the end of the world on a couple levels.

I would actually recommend both if you are into the genres.

Now I'm playing Trials Rising. A good change of pace from the serious types of games I had been playing lately. Enjoying this entry just like the previous one.

Playing Clive Barker's Undying, or trying to anyways. My XP system won't run it so trying it on Win98. Creepy as heck, maybe I'll turn off all the lights
to maximize the effect!

I've got this on my retro PC and plan on playing it sometime soon. I've played it before, but never finished it. I agree, it's creepy. I have the option of playing with V2 SLI or GF3. I know the Ti200 plays it faster, but I may still give it a go under GL if it performs well enough. Let us know how you like the game.

I haven't been motivated to do much gaming at all lately - been more in a hardware mood - but I've picked up a 6 month old save game in Oblivion and am really enjoying it.

I've added a few more mods to my list (included below if anyones interested) around leveling, scaling, and turning off non-quest related Oblivion gates and so far so good. I really do like the core mechanics of this game, but the leveling was always wonky, and those bloody Oblivion gates do turn into a chore pretty quickly.

In other news Super Mario is out for the C64! I fired it up on real hardware and it's pretty impressive - the sound / music in particular is spot on.

Yeah, my gaming has slowed down quite a bit lately too. I spent some time recording DOS game music, and some time collecting and testing games on my V2 SLI. Still playing Realms of Arkania: Star Trail though, and making good progress on it. I've got about 30 hrs into it and feel like I'm maybe 15-20 hrs more to complete it? And same with Wolfenstein: The New Order. It's taking a long time to finish because the save points discourage me from playing when I've only got a few minutes I could sneak in. I've been playing the game for a month and a half and have only put 5 hours in. The funny thing is, those five hours have been really fun! It's just finding 30+ minute stretches to play that I know will allow me to progress in the game.

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

Yes I'm lucky and usually get a solid hour to myself at night once my wife and kids are in bed, but work has been ridiculously busy lately so I find that I'm just too tired to game. That's not a complaint, it's good to be busy, but I do miss my RPG adventures after a while.

I'm working my way through some of Tamriel's caves and forts in an effort to level up a bit and find some better equipment. The underground isn't my favorite part of Oblivion but generally I'm finding it more varied and less maze-like than I remember, and it's always nice to pop out into the beautiful outdoors afterwards, setting off to the nearest town to sell your loot.

The Incredible Machine on my 486, various Mario titles, and OpenArena on my XP rig!

I've also found myself playing Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 and Street Fighter II' Champion Edition. 😜

NICE! That was such a fun game with a great MIDI soundtrack. Enjoy 😀

Never did finish LoL or play the sequels.. I should.

I’ve played through half of Freespace 2 campaign with an XBox controller is FSCP and it was like learning to write with the left hand. I still suck at it somewhat but I think I will restart because I missed so many bonus objectives early on..

Finished Trials about a week ago , didn't bother gridning after getting all golds or better in all the tracks I decided I was done. Its fun but I would have preferred a more straightforward way to unlock tracks than grinding.

Started on Wolfenstein II : The New Colossus this week. This is great , the gunplay mechanics are solid and the story and scenarios are entertaining. It's a little bit easy so far in normal mode but I consider it the best game I've played in a little while. Will review more when I've completed it.

The Wolfenstein series is one of my favorites. I've completed RtCW and The Old Blood and am currently about halfway through The New Order. I agree with your comments on mechanics and story. Very entertaining and nice breaks between combat and story/exploration.

Also still working through Realms of Arkania II. I'm probably 2/3 through the game? Finished in the city of Lowangan and just got to The Blood Peaks dungeon. This is such a unique RPG series. I love the way they do the overworld travel. Dungeons and towns are first-person, but overworld travel is handled from a sky view. You can see most of the entire world map and your party is represented by a dot. You choose the direction to travel, with camping done at night. While camping, you can eat/drink (you have hunger/thirst bars that must be kept down), hunt for game and search for herbs (for healing, potions, or just to sell for profit), then set up night watch before sleeping (to prevent surprise attacks). Wake up, go back to sky view. Choose new paths, sometimes finding interesting encounters and combat situations. Combat is turn-based, grid-based, and from a close up isometric view. You have the option of letting the computer determine the outcome of the combat. Sometimes when there are lots of easy enemies, I let the computer do the fighting, because combat can take a long time. If there's a dozen enemies, it can be a 30 minute battle if you handle it, so it's nice to have the computer fight option. It's definitely an old-school RPG, but with just enough modern touches (like a journal and auto-map) and I like that.

Need for Speed Porsche, great game. It hasn't aged well in terms of graphics but I remember that it was a very beautiful game when it launched and I was seriously impressed by transparent windows (!), animated driver models and a damage system that even worked and gave visual feedback. That was hot shit in 2000.

Very interesting to realize that, even though I got so accustomed by contemporary graphics, I still see the beauty in those pitiful lowpoly models and lame-ass textures. Considering the models consist of only a handful polygons and the textures needed to fit in those widespread 8MB crap-GPU's the develepers really made the best out of their possibilities.

I recently began playing Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (basically just a westernized Puyo Puyo). It's a great game and I like the soundtrack, but I can't even beat Arms at the easiest difficulty.

Still questing away in Oblivion over here when I get time and motivation, both in short supply ATM. I'm still adding the occasional mod when I notice something that doesn't look right - today for example I noticed that there are no player shadows in first person. There is of course a mod for that, but it looks wonky with no player body visible, but of course there's a mod for that too (shown below).

I stumbled into some DLC content, which I didn't mean to do, but it's interesting enough. I plan on running through the main quest but I distract easy.
