I hope some day, when storage and bandwidth become stupid cheap whoever still has DLT drives and cartridges working will upload again somewhere the data the "old" internet had, unfortunately I think those backups were destroyed many years ago. But for historic purposes it would had been nice every netblock owner and ISP had kept a copy of the websites they hosted.

the nature of usenet makes the OPs request pointless. Usenet has very little retention time, depending on the usenet provider. some have over a year, others only a few days...

But DejaNews and Google Groups do have archives going back a very long time.

I have to admit I forgot that usenet was primarily NOT about binaries 😉
