I didn't mean for this to turn into a k6-2 versus pentium debate 🙁

AT THE TIME I understand that the k6-2 chips were a very good buy. However, when building retro meachines 10 years after the fact a pentium III of comparable speed can be had just as cheaply and is more powerful

For MS-DOS Time-Machine gaming the Socket 7 platform is fantastic. For a W98 gaming machine I would pick a slot 1 machine.
