Dear All,

Now I realise this might be a tad weird, but you'll excuse me for coming out with it: I was wondering if it was possible to embed midi scores/soundtracks into modern video files, to effectively attach a midi score to a movie? I know you should first have the complete score of the film in the right order, etc., but just the possibility is exciting.

Imagine, if it were possible to create a GM/GS/XG soundtrack for a classic movies, complete with sound effects (pistol, clap, helicopter...) coming from a real sound module!

Then again, it's maybe just me... but it would be thrilling!

Well, an application with similar premise was (or still is) karaoke. I don't know how you would go about embedding a MIDI in a video file though, and I don't see a real need for it either. How about just capturing all the sounds beforehand and use them in the audio track?

Who would transcribe it all?
There's also rarely any full movie soundtrack done in midi. The only example I can think of is Star Wars, i swear there's a midi for every theme in that
