It's been over 10 years, but I recall finding a web site that listed all sorts of (mostly ISA) sound cards and their signal-to-noise ratios. The site also had subjectively labeled each one fair, good, excellent, etc. It was fairly well done at the time, but IIRC would be a pretty archaic layout by today's standards.

I can't find it out now for the life of me, nor do I know if it is even still up. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I was just able to see that I need to get a LynxTwo. Then this happened:

The Internet Archive's sites are offline for scheduled maintenance and upgrades.

Please check our twitter feed @internetarchive for updates.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Anyway, I tried this RMAA program a while ago on a few cards, I think it's inaccurate and I wouldn't take it's data too literally, but as comparison tool it does the job:

If anything, it shows that SB cards have come a long way... Yet they still suck.

Now that I have the domain-name pcavtech.com, I can find several references to it on Vogons. I guess it went away 4 years ago. 😢
Anybody capture an offline archive of that site, and the corresponding pages that went with it?
