And again, why open your forum to security problems of third party software if you can just do a mobile style? Search for tapatalk security to learn more and then when you are informed, do you still think that's a good idea.

I don't mind the idea of coding a mobile version of VOGONS at all. In fact, I would quite like it, since it can be a little bit bothersome to browse the site on my phone's tiny 320x480 screen. It's just tapatalk I'm not a big fan of.

It's not fun with 720x1280 either, the small display size and the tiny buttons/icons are the problem.
A mobile theme would be great.

I've been using ordinary mobile android browsers (usually Opera Mobile) to view Vogons on my smartphones, and don't face any problems....

No problems here either - iPad, or even iPhone when I get desperate. Vogons is a lot more responsive and easy to navigate than most of the websites I frequent on those devices.

While I understand the concerns mentioned here, I personally would find Tapatalk support very useful. All of the other forums I frequent support it. It's far more responsive than my mobile browser (Opera mobile), supports notifications and is actually useable in low bandwidth/marginal signal conditions. The app itself has a well-designed UI, is free of ads (like this forum) and is free to use for both the forum and end users.

VOGONS is not simply about ancient hardware nuts. Event the name is Very Old Games On New Systems. It was founded to get old games to run on *modern* hardware. Marvin was an afterthought.

Would like a mobile version, it is a bit annoying to click the small icons to get the latest posts and also zoom in and out all the time. I don't care if it's native or tapatalk tbh.
