The latest Haswell based CPUs? Ivybridge? Sandybridge? Nope, the Athlon 64 core.

Yes, what follows is really how they do their url:)

So Intel Core is not much faster than ancient MMX - even slower than Pentium 4 - in DOS?

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

c2d is the runner up to the a64, not so bad. I wonder what changes they made that dropped the performance in DOS. The latest haswell even dropped compared to ivy, both being way down the list.

Now that is interesting reading. Even the P55C is faster than a P2 or P3.

Would it have something to do with Raw, non-optimized integer performance?

So many combinations to make, so few cases to put them in.

Running a dedicated CPU benchmark might shed light on this. It could just be the video system holding things back?

Wonder how much they actually test everything on doom though or just guesstimate some values.

That seems to be more linear

^^^ Those results are definitely different. And seem to make more sense.

Top result isn't from running Doom 1.9s in DOS, but a recompile for windows(prboom) running from x64 windows 7.

Just tried it on my i5 ivy and it ends up exactly at 70fps, seems to be vsynced in some way, maybe try the integrated videocard instead of the nvidia.

Doom running in dosbox manages 210 fps or something

Why does a P60 with 256KB cache and PCI VGA score a measly 11.8 FPS, while an uncached P75 beats it hard at 34.8 FPS....

Yea that sounds wrong. A 486DX is faster 😀

To be honest I trust our (VOGONS) benchmarks, databases, Ultimate xxxx threads more.

Compared to the complang list, cpuworld is benching the same thing, doom 1.9s under dos, with the same set of hardware. Here's another doom results list, http://thandor.net/benchmarks/cpu/cpu?a=32&c= … =0&i=0&s=Submit, but cpuworld is the only one I've found so far that has benched newer CPUs. There are doom results with recent CPUs on vogons? What I've seen are just of vintage.
