Hello Vogons,
Recently i've been lurking the forum reading about Roland Sound Canvas (I just ordered a sk-88, I hope it sounds like a normal sc-88pro).

There are alot of experts here! So I have a question for you.
Can you recognize any sounds used in this song:

My guess is that the song is a tribute to the Tifa's Theme, so I was wondering if they actually used any Sound Canvas sounds 😊

Its hard to tell. A lot of synthesizers have such sounds. This sounds more like Yamaha XG than Roland GS to me.

They used GS for FFVIII
Which one did they actually use for the VII? XG o GS?

Final Fantasy 7 consists of 4 module versions:

1. Creative AWE optimized
2. General MIDI
3. XG MIDI
4. Yamaha GM (at least thats what i think YGM means)

As I am informed most GS modules support GM.
