$10K maybe. I always sold just in time to still get a lot back. 😀 Plus ThinkPads hold their value very well relative to other PCs. I also never pay full retail. I buy ThinkPads open box or refurbished: 25% to 85% off MSRP. Same with the one ThinkCentre I own. Even on refurbished I get a great discount (former employee of a large recycler). 😈
