The source for Commander Keen: Keen Dreams has apparently been purchased and released via a IndieGoGo effort.

There was an Indiegogo campaign to get this released. It was successful enough to purchase the rights to the game. There are plans to port the game to sdl for cross platform play.
Nice to see this "lost" episode finally come back into the light.

Thanks for the merging. Was unaware of prior issues, but as far as I can tell the IndieGoGo efforts and etc. are legitimate. Can anyone provide info on the Steam release? Is it a straight port, or have they worked out adding things like achievements, graphics filters, or etc?

Well the first one sounds nice.
Yeah, I'd love to play this game with my x360 controller. 😀 I find controllers are better for 2d games.
