Hey, how about this, DosFreak?
http://www.v3x.net/directx/
(DirectX-OpenGL wrapper)

Or this?
AltOGL
http://www.altsoftware.com/index.htm?mesadriver.htm
(OpenGL-DirectX wrapper)

Let's not forget this:
SciTech GLDirect
http://www.scitechsoft.com/products/enterprise/gld_home.html
(OpenGL-DirectX wrapper)

This sounds interesting:
http://groups.google.com/groups?threadm=OcYZQ … 0%40tkmsftngp05
(Microsoft's Built-in OpenGL-DirectX wrapper?)
His followup link doesn't seem related, but this does:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?sci … b;en-us;Q316474

Maybe I'll email him, as I don't understand.

And Old-school: "Big RRed", the Glide-to-RRedline wrapper.
http://www.renditionrevival.com/devboard/25.html
Search Google: BigRRed OR "Big RRed"

Hmm - another project suggestion: The Giant List of Wrappers?
Colin, perhaps we could have a Projects forum, and space on the site for hosting?

Forgot all the nice work TransGaming has done on their Direct3D-to-OpenGL wrapper embedded within WineX. How could I?
http://www.transgaming.com/

Perhaps someday they can release it only, without the Wine stuff. 😀

D3D 8.1 to OGL wrapper.

and GLDirect is a DX to OGL wrapper. NOT an OGL to DX.

The built-in wrapper in 2K/XP uses D3D to emulate OGL. If your card does not support D3D then the OGL emulation does not work. This emulation works best with Quake engine games.

why?! What kind of hardware are we talking about that needs a D3D/OGL wrapper?

As far as projects are concerned, I've got no problem giving you guys some space on the server as long as you don't, like, go around posting warez and stuff. (It's generally frowned on by my colo company.)

Send me an email at some point and I'll hook whomever's interested in this project up.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Well back in the day (1998) when Half-Life first came out, it ran best with OGL and still does. Unfortunately ATI cards were the most popular during that time and my parents computer had an ATI card that was TERRIBLE at OGL. So installed GLDirect and that worked great! Sad huh? Having to install a DX to OGL wrapper to run HL in OGL because ATI couldn't program a proper OGL ICD. 🙄

That's just one of my many bad experiences with ATI.

That's kinda my point. One never knows when one would need such things. BTW - I emailed TransGaming about my idea of "porting" their DirectX-OpenGL work back over to Win32, but they haven't answered. I'm sure they're not interested. 😀

I still don't agree with your interpretation of GLDirect, DosFreak:
Quoted from SciTech Software's site:

About SciTech GLDirect
SciTech GLDirect is the utility package for Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP that combines the power of the OpenGL API with the wide availability of Direct3D hardware drivers. It accomplishes this by enabling OpenGL based games and applications to access 3D hardware acceleration through the Direct3D 6.x drivers provided by your graphics hardware manufacturer. The OpenGL API is the cross-platform, high performance standard for 3D graphics applications.

Now, that means to me that you can run OpenGL software over Direct3D, hence an OpenGL-to-Direct3D wrapper. Am I wrong?
