We hiked half the AT before we decided to get married, since I was living in London before going to USA, I had to leave to get a fiancee visa to go back, so instead of going back to Australia as I planned I had to go back to UK then back to the USA to get married! But we hiked half or more than half in one go. I chucked my job in London and just went without knowing what the plan was beyond hiking. Certainly not meeting random girls or to think of getting married 🤣!

Mostly playing keyboard and drawing; fair to say after feeling like a rag doll for my entire adolescence I started working out at gym about 2hs per day/4 to 5 days per we since early February and I just feel like I'm another human being. 😀 Do any of you guys here just feel like you have to disconnect and turn off everything -at least- for a moment? I'm so tired of all the mobile phone ringing/facebook shit that I've started to realise this is just what had been killing my mood and eating my entire life for so long!

Yes it is. It's amazing how many there are throughout the States, too (probably worldwide?). No matter where you go, there's a geocache close by. We've found caches in other states when roadtripping and just pulling off the highway for some lunch.

Aside from the other computing stuff (virtualisation, old systems, networking, programming)

Roller derby (on quad skates) - refereeing, used to play for a while.
Running, not incredibly fast, but up and down hills.
Mountain biking, but I tend to just see my bike as a tool, and it's usually covered in more mud than it should be.. Mostly I do some offroad tracks rather than anything particularly extreme

Well.... The weather is getting warmer. Now is the time to do garden stuff.
(Glad I have managed to build my fleet during winther time)

Second after computers are still cooking, today I made this up by my self. From scratch, no recepie.
Who needs a recepie anyway? 😁

I have all updates on Facebook disabled so I have no idea what is going on with my friends / relatives.

And I virtually never get phone calls.

I also aggressively keep emails and physical mail to a minimum. 😀

Around the turn of the year I decided to get into collecting and building custom lightsabers (yes, bit of a Star Wars phase at the moment). I've ordered many parts and electronics from The Custom Saber Shop already. and a cheaper stunt saber from Ultrasabers for my daughter. I almost have everything I need to build my own, which will consist of a Cree XP-E2 Green LED, illuminated AV momentary switch, sound board designed for custom saber fonts with decent motion detection, speaker, and a strong polycarbonate heavy duel-worthy blade. A few other things I'll do as well to make it look nice. Just need to play with it and get some ideas. I've been reading up on some medium-to-advanced electronics setup methods and am looking forward to getting my hands dirty. Stupid expensive hobby, but I'm learning new skills and geeking out all at the same time. Probably more geekery involved than building my own PCs.

Unfinished WIP so far:

You really need to be careful with those things.

Now I know why Han Solo preferred his blaster.

My other hobby (which is considerably more expensive than collecting old computers/consoles 🙁( ) is flying. I've been working 1 and a half year but I finally last weekend got my private pilot license so now I can fly my family wherever I want 😀

Now, the question is how can I combine the 2 hobbies? Maybe use old computers in the airplane somehow?

Congratulations! Well, if the flight computer in the Space Shuttle has the processing power of an Xbox360, then I'm sure a 486 could power a Cessna.

The AP101S was considerably less powerful than the Xenos processor.

That's awesome! Flying is on my "I have no idea how people manage to do that" list of activities!

Do you have a plane or do you rent one?

For the moment renting but I am looking to buy in the medium to long-term future. And yes a 486 would probably power just fine a Cessna. 😀
