Hello everyone. I recently came across a dual Pentium 3 machine. The only problem is I cannot find drivers. Can anyone help?
Supermicro Page (Specs): http://supermicro.com/products/motherboard/ar … I/LE/370DLE.cfm
It has 1 Gb ECC RAM, 2 x Pentium III 933 MHz, ATI Rage 128 PCI graphics card

Q: Why didn't Intel call the Pentium the 586?
A: Because they added 486 and 100 on the first Pentium and got 585.999983605.

I don't know for sure, but would it be possible to use the driver from a board with the same chipset but from another brand?
I've very recently went downloading basically everything from the ASUS website for my own s370 dual s370 boards as I'd rather get them now before they disappear in case I'm gonna use these boards.

Do you know of any other boards that have this same chipset? I have looked and found very little about this chipset. The problem I'm having is that Windows 2000 keeps giving me "Inacessable Boot Device" and refuses to boot.

Apparently this one, an ASUS board: CUR-DLS

I just found that one a few minutes ago, but I can't find chipset drivers, only BIOS, LAN and graphics.

I just checked (inlcuding the stuff I downloaded a couple days ago) and you are correct. No idea why they aren't there.

I just went and grabbed the driver for the NIC on the Intel website. Do you happen to know any other boards that have the same chipset?

Apparently Serverworks was absorbed by Broadcom and their site doesn't appear to have these drivers either.
What exact problem do you have with W2k btw?
What type of optical drive were you trying to boot from?
Did you set up the BIOS correctly for the device you were trying to boot from?
Have you tried other options and which options have you tried?
What drive were you using to boot from?
What exact W2k disk are you trying to boot? Some may not be bootable at all but I'm not sure about this.

No. It was pure coincidence that I was busy with downloading "everything" for a board with this chipset a few days ago.

Could you give me the link to the driver you found?

edit:
Btw, you could opt to try install another OS, just to make sure the problem is with your W2k disk and not the board?

Ok, I have tried installing W2K Advanced server, but I would get as far as the reboot and load into the OS, and then get a BSOD that says "Inacessable Boot Device". I then tried installing Server 2003, wouldn't even complete install without a disk copy error. I then tried installing W2KAS on my 40GB HDD which I know is good since I had my previous file server set up using it. I got the same "Inaccessable Boot Device" BSOD on bootup. And, what driver do you want, the one for the NIC or the ASUS website?

The one from Intel as I already downloaded all CUR-DLS stuff from ASUS 😜

What type of drives are you trying to use?
SCSI or IDE or ....?
Seems it's not the OS or your disk then. I haven't ever tried to install an OS on anything but IDE and SATA, so don't know how this should be done.

IDE disk. It is a Western Digital 40GB hard drive. The CD I'm using is a self-booting, and I used it to sucessfully install Win 2K on another computer. The Supermicro board has SCSI headers, but the original owner opted not to get a board populated with SCSI sockets. I can't tell you where I got the image for the Win 2K CD, because some consider the website "Warez", but I am using my own key. This image has worked for many installs.

My other 2KAS machine, (Which I'm very tempted to use since it has an extra 2 IDE Ports) is an Asus A7V133 board. I installed 2KAS with no problems on it

Ok, thanks for clearing this up 😀

My question was about the Intel LAN driver you found. I don't need an image as I got basically all original Windows install media & codes of all MS Window's prior to Vista (except for a few of the server variants).
If your image boots, then it's not that.
Another thing you 'could' try is to take a test install of Win 9x from another rig and try to make it boot from your Supermicro board.

I got the LAN driver from the official Intel website, here:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/21/I … rnet-Controller. I don't REALLY want to use Windows 9x, since this is going to be a fileserver. However, I will try that. It may be Windows ME though...

Ok... Tried Win 98 SE (I believe?) from a K6-2 450 machine. Nothing... an unknown error, Code 5. No clue what that means.
Edit: Ok, that works! It loads in, but it found a bunch of unknown hardware. Then, it gave an error that an illegal operation ocurred, and it will shut down. The only problem is... Where do I get all of the drivers? And, I am running single processor, but Windows 98 doesn't support multiple processors
