Looks like the wayback machine has the website archive, idk if they archive it fully

In my experience their archiving is usually partial, especially when it comes to forums.
I assume also binary files are uncertain.

I contacted the site owner and have the entire archive.
Once the site goes down I'll be starting up a FTP or something, If the domain ever becomes for sale I'll nab it up too.

He's being more then fair giving loads of notice, sending out DVD's for free. While it is a great shame, can understand why he wants out and, and the way he's doing it gets full respect from me!
I seem to remember quest studios closing down caught a lot of people off guard.

I will continue to run the update until just before it goes offline.

If the forum community is still actively posting, I'd maybe be interested in seeing what it takes to convert from YaBB to phpBB and import accounts, private messages, forums, topics and posts into VOGONS for them to continue posting. Unless there's been an offer already.

(We would have done that for Queststudios, I have no doubt, had we warning and a friendly admin over there...)

I spoke with the site owner. He is not willing to let anyone have access to the user accounts. He's conserved about passwords and privet info getting out. He may change his mind if someone like you asks.

It might not the best idea to straight up merge the sites, I would end up having two accounts here. 😵

Just a small but important Detail for anyone that already has or plans to build a functional Mirror of the 3dfx Archive :

Please be to kind to remove the following .htm Files from any live Mirror :
- impressum.htm (my Postal Address)
- contact.htm (my EMail Address)
- disclaimer.htm (an old - by now redundant requirement - of German telecommunication laws)

If those were to be maintained , I'd still be repeatedly contacted on 3dfx matters, worst-case when I'm since long in the retirement home already xD

Plus, I naturally take absolutely responsibility for any of the setup Mirrors, thus neither my postal Address or my EMail address shall be part of such Mirrors. Those Mirrors will be none of my business.
Feel free to admend/change the contact Information to reflect the actual Operator of the respective Mirror instead - or use blank pages (just to avoid 404 errors).

Should I find online Mirrors after Jul 2017 containing my Contact Info, I'd have to intervene due to legal and privacy reasons.
So please make sure these are removed or blanked with placeholder/empty content if you intend to run a live Mirror Smiley

Yeah I don't think its a joke ether. Kind of said to see it go, 3DFXzone.it is one of the few good 3dfx forums left.
