Is your wallets ready for some unexpected thrusting and "servicing"? I'll just stick to my cheap Xeon.

I'm curious how the 1MB L2 cache on i9 affects performance. 16-core ZEN will be the same as 8-core series just with double the core amount. All strenghts and weknesses will remain the same. Not planning upgrade either, 7700K is good enough for me. Maybe the 6C Cofee Lake will be more interesting... but only i case it is compatible with Z170 (which I doubt).

the unexpected competition AMD did startle Intel, and prices will be affected because of it. The question remains how is intel going to react to this with prices, are they going to underprice their upcoming 2 generations CPU to set AMD back or will it be real competition like the early 00's? I hope the latter actually since prices for components have been becoming unrealisticly expensive due the lack of competition on the CPU/GPU market.
