External hosting sites are like cancer for internet forums. The same happened with image shack.
Also if a user gets banned or pissed off it makes is harder for him to nuke his account and remove all the photos he/she posted. I always required that images be hosted on the 3 forums I ran years back.

yeah i seen that but i use other forums to and i like to have a place to just put pics so this wont help..

Imgur is a decent service. You can link straight to the image after you upload. However I know nothing about privacy, there might not be any. I just put generic motherboard, cpu, etc, images there.

Then post them on one forum and link them to anther. Most forums don't require you to be logged in to see the images.

Better yet stop being lazy and just upload to etch site. Not like that's a big deal. And if the forum goes rogue like image hosting sites do all the time you don't have to deal with uploading all you images on another site.
Do you really want to go though and fix broken images on all you accounts if your image hosting site goes down the crapper?

I also use Imgur now that Photobucket has gone to a paid service. I have no expectation of privacy from Imgur but I didn't have any with Photobucket either. Like you I just upload generic images of pc parts.
