I was wondering if anybody knows of any software that can (at least) log the temperature of my CPU in my Windows 98 SE retro gaming machine in a very minimalistic fashion. I currently use Hardware Info 32 in "Sensors Only" mode to do the job, with it writing the data to a .csv file in the background while I run something in the foreground to see how much my CPU heats up as a result. However, the problem is is that one, it is a system-hog (whenever it queries the hardware for the temperature, my entire system freezes for a second; horrible), and two, it "has to" also check things like my HDD's S.M.A.R.T. status every CPU (?) "cycle", something which I do not care about if all I want is to read and record CPU temperatures, and probably helps make it a system-hog. Therefore, I ask, is there some super-lightweight software for such a task out there?
If someone can point me to such software, or tell me such software does not exist, that would be great!
For reference, I have an Asus P3B-F motherboard with a Pentium III 600E.
Thanks in advance!
