Happy NewYear 2017/2018

Postby brostenen » 2017-12-29 @ 10:54

I just wanted to be up front with a tread, so people can wish each other a happy new year 2017/2018 in advance.

I hope everyone here, will have a pleasant evening on December the 31'st. And that you will all eat well, drink well and be happy all night. If you are alone that night, then please go out and be social. At least go to a bar or something. It is hell sitting home alone, and doing nothing. Been there, done that, never again. And please avoid any accidents with fireworks. Be carefull, they are not toys.
Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick I tell.... (never tried though)

2018 - 1993 = 25 years since we were rocking back and forth waiting to download DOOM from whatever poor university hosted the shareware.

I don't know about you guys....
I just think this whiskey is one of the best. I just love this 18 year old thing, and usually drink it straight, at room temperature.
I do not like Vodka, Rum or other hard alcohol. Scottish quality Whiskey it is, or just beer for me.

I prefer "crafty" IPAs myself.
edit: @DracoNihil - I think so. I never watch, so not sure. I don't think I've made it to midnight in the past 10 yrs. I'm an early-to-bed-early-to-rise person.

"half frozen"?

Hey that makes me wonder, has anyone ever tried to make alcoholic popsicles before?

I actually do not know. It has to be low percentage and so on....
What I do know, is those melons, that you fill with vodka. Then there is the trick with poundcake soaked in alcohol.
Lots of ways to eat alcohol soaked food. ;-)

In my youth, we used to take a 1.5 litre coca cola bottle, cut the bottom and cover it with duct tape.
Then it was a funnel that you could not see, and you did not know how many beers that were put in it while you drank.

I've never tried popsicles, but when I was in college, my buddy and I once made vodka jello and took it with us to an amusement park. We walked around, innocently eating our jello out of tupperware, park staff none the wiser to our shenanigans.

Yeah... Not going to drink any Whiskey this year. It was only an example on what type of hard alcohol that I enjoy.
This year, I am only drinking dark beer. Not in the mood for anything stronger than 4.7 percent vol.
I have enough beer for my self this year. 18 cans of dark beer. No wine or champagne for me eighter.

This year however, my woman and I have spend a lot of money on food. I bought 1.7 kilogram (Aprox 3 punds)
of calf tenderloin. Going to cut some nice steaks from that, and roast them on the pan with salt and pepper.
Then I have bought 1 kilogram of potatoes, and going to peel them, cut them in slices and bake them in the oven
for 1,5 hour with a bit of onions in the bottom and covered completely with cream (38% fresh cream).

For desert, we are going to have Italian chokolate ice cream with caramel sauce on the side.

Why would the staffers be trouble for you? It's only alcohol, not a loaded revolver or sword.

Normally you wouldn't be allowed to bring in alcohol. This was 25 yrs ago. Nowadays, things have changed. They search your bags before you go in and do not allow any outside food or drink.
