RetroPie/EmulationStation/RecalBox have been terrible in my experience and I wouldn't be content with them to turn a Pi into a NES Mini/SNES Classic substitute.

Nintendo's got the advantage to.....produce contrtollers that don't suck and frontends that don't brick. 😀

I think stretch fixed the graphpics driver by now. at least it's working on my stretch. I know they regressed it a few months ago

It's got be said the 8bitdo pads are a great substitute.

Only in theory. Once they get on your Pi 3's bluetooth they'll take down the Pi with a hang. Also good luck trying to configure them in Lakka.....

(also they're owned by a company that has a browser miner on their page. 😐)

My 3B+ arrived today, hooray! Finally can get a Pi on my 5GHz wifi network without - I hope - weird driver hacks and power problems from dodgy 5GHz USB wifi adapters.

I just recently finished building and setting up retropie with my R-Pi 3.

Paired it with my 8Bitdo controllers.

Works great! This is what I always wanted - a portable classic console emulator all-in-one!

My favourite are Sega Genesis & Sega CD, SNES, MAME and GameBoy Advance and PlayStation.

I have these :

Both work great.
