There's a vintage computer item I want from on an online marketplace in Brazil, but there's no way to contact the seller, nor is there a way to ship to the USA. Anyone live there, or near there that could offer assistance? 😎

I can't offer any help, but I'm curious.
How do they sell anything if there is no way to contact them?

You have to buy the item. There's no way to contact the seller until you purchase it. You need to add your address (within Brazil) to even purchase the item, so people outside of the USA can't purchase things from the site. You can specify to pick it up at the seller's address as well. I tried to even google the guy's user ID to figure out if I can track down a facebook or some other forum ID, but no luck.

Well here it is. He has other items for sale as well, and has, on this site, 83 feedback. There's a lot of photos of the card.

I've been wanting one of these for awhile now. Haven't seen one in box.

I bought something from "Mercado Livre" some years ago. I remember the seller wanted cash, which made me suspicious, but I sent the money anyway via regular post. Item arrived fine. No problems.

Is this too much voodoo?

Lower on the page below where is says "Ou pergunte ao vendedor"
That is an "ask seller a question" box.

Holy crap. I swear that did not show when I was using Google Chrome translate this morning on my laptop.! 😕 😕 😕

Though I don't know if that is a specific "private message" type thing or just a general question, where I can't get a personal message back. 😒

I'll make it thorough...🤣

Have you gotten progress on this yet? Let me know if you need help translating it.

I think Mercado Livre does not handle international shipping, which means you won't have any guarantees of this making it across the ocean to you, not from Mercado Livre's perspective of course. One thing you could do is to have it shipped to someone in Brazil and have that person ship it out to you; I can volunteer to do that for you if you're interested, you'd just have to pay the shipping over to you.

Also, if the seller is willing to, they can ship it out to you independently from the Mercado Livre (Entrega a combinar com o vendedor - Delivery of the item to be arranged between buyer and seller, outside of the platform), and you can pay for the item using your international credit card, and the seller could potentially add the shipping cost to the item and charge you one the same transaction, but it is likely that they could ask you for a direct transfer of the shipping fee- this gives you the guarantee that if they try to screw you over, you can likely have your money back (at least some of it).

If I can't get a hold of the seller (or he get a hold of me, thats a better description), then I would love for you to be the "middle man". I've been searching forever for a boxed Mach32 EISA for my EISA machine. I finally found a Compaq Qvision 1280/E, and now the Mach32 EISA is eyeing at me from far away.

I greatly appreciate the help bregolin!

I don't really like the public message system.

A few years ago I wanted to buy M919 cache modules from the same site. I got help from a Vogons member but in the end he bought the modules and kept them for himself 🤣 And my M919 board is still without the cache 🙁

Requests are also possible... /msg kixs

That's unfortunate kixs. I've had better luck with people here on Vogons, but you still need to be careful.

So unfortunate... hopefully he's been banned from this forum.
