Is there a way to emulate a dial-up speed with the current internet?

There are browser plugins you can get that add packet loss, limit speed etc

Is that for Mozilla or Chrome?
Another method would be to use SLIP connection (IP over serial).
It's only as fast as the (emulated or real) serial port is configured to.
Not sure how exactly that works, but I guess you'd have to set up a SLIP server first.

Is SLIP for Linux only?
SLIRP runs on a Linux/UNIX terminal but you can connect to it with Trumpet Winsock, WfWG 3.11, Win9x, etc.

IN that way why not also to emulate fidonet? However this time it uses the WIFI link channels, not internet, thus the WIFI hotspots without password is creating the new parallel infrastructure in town. Also this time the benefit is that the lines are never too busy and has the meaning of sharing the connection. 😀
In Germany it can be WIFI without password as it does not state as the free internet connection as it is for a fidonet server instead. or how?
